Greetings! We’re back to finish up this two-part series about the sun-clothed woman and the man child. In the last post, we established that the 144,000 sealed servants are the “he is taken out of the way” element. We also established that the sun-clothed woman is Jerusalem and the great red dragon is the Antichrist figure. In this post, we’re going to interpret what all of it means. Stay tuned…
THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD
Second in a Two-Part Series

Interpretation of the Sun-Clothed Woman and the Man Child
Now that we have established that the great red dragon is Antichrist, the sun-clothed woman is Jerusalem (the Jewish people), and the man child is the 144,000 sealed servants, it’s time to interpret what it all means. Throughout the first three- and one-half years of Daniel’s 70th week, the four angels will hold back the winds from blowing so that peace is maintained among the nations. During that time, the sun-clothed woman becomes pregnant when the first of the 144,000 servants are converted. As more and more of them are converted, her pregnancy grows. At the end of the first half of Daniel’s 70th week, all 144,000 servants are converted, bringing the woman’s pregnancy full term. That means the angel with the seal of God has completed his task of having sealed all 144,000 servants. What that also means is that it is time for the Antichrist to come forth. He will come forward when he breaks the seven-year covenant and invades Jerusalem.
The dragon drawing a third of the stars with his tail and then casting them down is symbolism for war against the Jewish people. Antichrist’s invasion of Jerusalem will result in the death of one-third of the Jewish people. After that, he will then turn his attention toward the Christians (which includes the 144,000) with the intention of killing them. But before Antichrist is able to put his genocidal plan into action, the resurrection of the dead takes place. It’s at this point, the woman (the Jewish people) flees into the wilderness where she will stay for the last half of Daniel’s 70th week.
The Lord Re-Engages the Outpouring of His Wrath
When Antichrist invades Jerusalem, the Lord will re-engage the outpouring of His wrath in the form of the seven trumpet judgments on the kingdom of Antichrist. The four angels that were holding back the winds of heaven will now administer the first four trumpet judgments. The first trumpet judgment brings forth hail and fire thrown to the earth, resulting in a third of the trees being burned up. The second trumpet judgment brings forth a great burning mountain which lands in the sea resulting in a third of the sea turning into blood, a third of the creatures in the sea dying, and a third of the ships in the sea being destroyed. The third trumpet judgment brings forth a burning star from heaven which falls on a third of the rivers and springs of water resulting in a third of the waters being poisoned. The fourth trumpet judgment will diminish the light of the sun, moon, and stars by one-third.
All these cosmic judgments are administered simultaneously, one on top of the other. You’ll notice all the damage done to the earth and seas resulted in one-third. It is a measure-for-measure judgment. Antichrist’s invasion of Jerusalem brought about the deaths of one-third of the Jewish people, so Antichrist, in turn, will receive one-third destruction.
The next three judgments are devastating to the inhabitants of earth. Destruction is administered to the destroyers of the earth. The fifth trumpet brings forth an army of locusts from the bottomless pit. For five months, they are given the power to torment those that do not have the seal of God.
The sixth trumpet judgment brings forth four angels from the great river Euphrates. The four angels will have an army of two hundred million. Their purpose is to kill a third of mankind in Antichrist’s realm. This will complete the measure-for-measure judgment against Antichrist for killing one-third of the Jewish people in Jerusalem.
After all of that, the seventh trumpet will sound. As already discussed, the seventh trumpet is the last trumpet. First Corinthians 15 tells us about the last trump: “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible… (v. 52). And then 1st Thessalonians chapter four says, “the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (vv. 16–17). All those who died in Christ will be raised from the dead which will be an innumerable number. They rise up first and then the believers from all over the world, from every nation, every tribe will be physically changed in the twinkling of an eye. And they will be caught up to God in heaven. And included in that great resurrection will be the 144,000 servants.
That is what we saw in Revelation chapter seven. Right after the 144,000 were sealed, John saw this great multitude in heaven. “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb” (Rev. 7:9–10). The resurrection of the dead takes place when the seventh trumpet is sounded. The seven trumpets are sounded when Antichrist breaks the covenant and invades Jerusalem in the middle of the 70th week. True, no one can know the day or the hour, but we will definitely know in the timeline of events when the resurrection of the dead will take place. It’s for that reason that we must all “be ready.”
